josh-wallaert-mielJosh Wallaert grew up in Cheshire, Oregon, in the Long Tom watershed of the southern Willamette Valley, and has lived in Portland, Minneapolis, and Vancouver. He now lives in San Francisco, California.

Josh’s chapbook A Guide to the Northwest Territory was praised as “[w]onderfully perceptive” by Amanda Coplin (author of The Orchardist). Nick Lantz (We Don’t Know We Don’t Know) calls his language “graceful and sublime” and says “what sets these poems apart is [Wallaert’s] profound intuition for the startling […] connection”. Joseph Reed, editor at Caketrain, calls the Josh’s poems “carefully curated findings”.
