Laressa Dickey is a poet, dancer, and somatic worker. Born in Tennessee, Dickey received her MFA in 2005 from the University of Minnesota. She now lives in Berlin. Laressa’s work appears in CURA, Precipitate, Cerise Press, The Southern Women’s Review, Referential Magazine, Isotope, and many other journals. A postcard broadside of her poem “Fifty Years on a Dressform” was printed by Yes Press.
Laressa is the author of Companions, Corps of Discovery, A Pictorial History of Wilderness, A Piece of Information About His Invisibility and Mimesis, synaptic, all from MIEL (2012). Her collection Bottomland was published in spring 2014 by Shearsman Books, and a chapbook came out in 2013 from dancing girl press. A second collection is forthcoming from The Backwaters Press. In 2014, MIEL published Little Voice Box as part of the microseries.
