When we saw that Amy Blackwell was opening a collaborative shop, we knew it’d be good. Audrey & Illya just opened at the end of October, and we love the garter stitch mittens. At £18.50 a pair, they’re not cheap—but you know that they’ve been made by hand, by adults who are being paid a fair wage for their work. And they’re available in really great colors.
For: your mom, your brother, your fancy neighbor; your boyfriend or girlfriend or other special person; that adorable human you’ve got your eye on but to whom you can’t quite say let me keep yr hands warm! yet.
What’s to love: the colors! That red! The yellow! The dark purply-blue! The fact that they’re handmade, too. And, to be honest, the price for a pair of handknitted mittens is great.
